DAVID KUO
Little Fatty (Los Angeles, CA), Accomplice Bar (Los Angeles, CA)
David Kuo, Founder, Chef, and Owner of Little Fatty and Accomplice Bar, has always had a passion for food and grew up cooking with his mother and grandmother in Los Angeles. After graduating from UCLA with a degree in political science, David initially worked in property management before falling in love with cooking and switching full time to a career in the culinary arts. David went back to school, and upon graduation from Le Cordon Bleu in Pasadena, found work with acclaimed chefs and establishments including Charlie Palmer, Wolfgang Puck, Hotel Bel Air, and Jean-Georges in New York, before helping to open Craft (Tom Colicchio), Test Kitchen (Sprout Group), and Short Order (Nancy Silverton) in Los Angeles.
In 2014, David fulfilled his dream of opening his own restaurant and debuted Status Kuo in the Mar Vista neighborhood of Los Angeles. Originally a well-regarded rotisserie concept, David decided to go back to his roots and in 2016, re-conceived the restaurant into Little Fatty (his Chinese childhood nickname), serving Taiwanese soul food. He based the new menu on his favorite traditional dishes that his mother and grandmother would prepare using ingredients from their expansive home garden growing up. The new concept resonated with the neighborhood and David expanded their footprint, opening Accomplice Bar next door.
